Quick answer: To spot a fake disposable vape, check three things: the security code (scratch it and verify it on the brand’s official page), the packaging (sharp printing, correct spelling, real model names), and the seller (an authorized retailer at normal prices). Geek Bar verifies codes at geekbar.com/security-code.html. RAZ verifies codes on its authentication portal at razdisposable.com.
For adults 21+ only. This guide is general product information, not legal advice.
Step 1: Verify the security code
Geek Bar (Pulse X2, Pulse X, Pulse 2, CLR, Skyview, Mate, Clio Platinum)
- Find the authentication label on the side of the box and scratch off the coating.
- Scan the QR code or go to the official Geek Bar Verify Product page, and enter the code.
- Geek Bar’s support FAQ says a genuine product shows Valid security code with a green tick. A first check that says being queried already, or invalid security code, is a red flag.
- Make sure the address bar shows www.geekbar.com before you type anything. Geek Bar notes packaging may vary by region, starting with the CLR.
RAZ (LTX 25K, RX 50K, Vue 50K)
- Find the “Scratch Me” panel by the RAZ hologram and scratch it to reveal the QR code.
- Scan it with your phone camera, or enter the code on RAZ’s authentication portal at razdisposable.com/authenticate.
- Each code is unique. An invalid or already-redeemed result means the unit may be counterfeit or previously claimed.
Foger (Bit 35K, Switch Pro 30K)
As of October 31, 2026 we could not confirm an official Foger brand verification page, so we don’t link one. Follow any security label instructions printed on the box. The Switch Pro dock is encrypted to genuine Switch Pro pods, per our Switch Pro battery listing. See Fogger or Foger? for the correct brand spelling.
Step 2: Check the packaging and device
- Print quality: sharp text and bright, even color. Fakes often look dark or blurry.
- Names and flavors: compare the model and flavor to the brand’s real lineup. Our Geek Bar flavors, RAZ flavors and Foger flavors lists help.
- Specs: puff ratings, modes and screens should match the official specs. See our disposable vape spec table.
- Warning label: US packaging carries the nicotine warning statement.
Step 3: Check the seller
- Prices far below normal retail are a common sign. Compare against how much a Geek Bar costs and RAZ vape prices.
- Legitimate sellers verify age 21+ at checkout. See where to buy Geek Bars online and where to buy RAZ vapes online.

Tobacco 21: the age rule
Since December 20, 2019, US federal law has set the minimum age to buy tobacco products, including e-cigarettes and disposable vapes, at 21. Retailers must verify age. State and local rules can add more. More in how old you have to be to vape. This is not legal advice.
FAQ
How can I tell if my Geek Bar is real?
Scratch the security label on the side of the box and enter or scan the code on Geek Bar’s official page at geekbar.com/security-code.html. Geek Bar says a genuine code shows Valid security code with a green tick. A first-time check that says the code was already queried, or an invalid code, is a warning sign.
How do I verify a RAZ vape?
Scratch the panel near the RAZ hologram on the box, scan the QR code and enter the code on RAZ’s authentication portal at razdisposable.com. RAZ says an invalid or already-redeemed code points to a counterfeit or a previously claimed unit.
Does Foger have an online verify page?
We could not confirm an official Foger brand verification page as of October 31, 2026. Check the packaging for any security label and its printed instructions, and buy from a retailer that sells only authentic stock.
What are common signs of a fake disposable vape?
Blurry or dark printing, misspelled names or flavors, a security code that fails or was already used, puff counts or flavors the brand does not make, and prices far below normal retail.
How old do you have to be to buy a vape in the US?
21. Under the federal Tobacco 21 law signed in December 2019, it is illegal for retailers to sell tobacco products, including e-cigarettes, to anyone under 21. Retailers must check ID. This is not legal advice.
What should I do if my code fails?
Stop and contact the seller with photos of the box, label and receipt, and report it to the brand using the contact listed on its verify page.
