This guide compares a keep-the-device pod system with a one-piece 50K disposable from another brand. If you plan to buy more than once, how you replace each one matters more than any single spec. Everything here comes from our own product pages, checked October 24, 2026; where a page doesn’t list a detail, we say “not listed.” Comparing the Mate with another pod system? See Geek Bar Mate 60K vs RAZ Vue, Geek Bar Clio Platinum vs Mate 60K or Foger Switch Pro vs Geek Bar Mate 60K. For the Mate against Geek Bar’s own 50K disposable, see Geek Bar Mate 60K vs Pulse X2. This page covers only the Mate and the RAZ RX.

What’s the main difference between the Geek Bar Mate 60K and RAZ RX?

What you throw away. The Geek Bar Mate 60K Kit is a reusable 900 mAh device paired with a 200 mAh pre-filled pod. When a pod runs out, you buy a Mate 60K replacement pod for $21.99 and keep the device. The kit page says each pod also works on its own, and the device adds the 900 mAh battery and display.

The RAZ RX 50K is a sealed, pre-filled disposable with an 800 mAh battery. Its page is clear that it’s not a refillable kit. When the e-liquid is gone, you replace the whole device.

Which one costs less per puff?

On the first purchase, using the top rating, the Mate kit works out to about $0.42 per 1,000 puffs ($24.99 ÷ 60). A single RX is about $0.50 per 1,000 puffs ($24.99 ÷ 50). With the RX 2-pack at $44.99, each is about $22.50, or roughly $0.45 per 1,000 puffs; with the 3-pack at $59.99, each is about $20.00, or roughly $0.40 per 1,000 puffs.

After that, a Mate replacement pod at $21.99 is about $0.37 per 1,000 puffs ($21.99 ÷ 60), slightly below even the RX 3-pack rate, because you aren’t paying for a new battery and screen each time. In the stronger settings, a Mate pod in Pulse mode (30,000 puffs) is about $0.73 per 1,000 puffs, while a single RX in Boost (25,000) is about $1.00 and in Super Boost (20,000) about $1.25. These are rated maximums; real counts depend on how long you draw and which mode you use.

How do the power modes compare?

The Mate uses Geek Bar’s two-mode setup: Regular for the longest rating and Pulse for a bigger hit at half the rated puffs. The RX has three settings: Normal, Boost and Super Boost, and its page notes that higher power means fewer puffs. Neither page lists wattage for any mode, so we can’t compare power output directly. On rated puffs, the Mate’s Pulse mode (up to 30,000) sits above the RX’s Boost (up to 25,000), and the RX’s Super Boost (up to 20,000) is the lowest rating of any setting here.

Is the Mate pod usable without the device?

Yes, according to our kit page: each Mate pod works on its own, and the device adds the 900 mAh battery and display. The pod page notes that the pod’s 200 mAh built-in battery recharges on the Mate device. The RX keeps the battery, screen and e-liquid in one sealed unit, so there’s nothing to pair. For more on how pods and devices pair across brands, see Geek Bar and RAZ replacement pod compatibility.

How do battery, screen and charging compare?

The Mate lists more capacity: a 900 mAh device plus a 200 mAh pod. The RX lists 800 mAh in one unit. Both charge over USB-C. The Mate device has what its page calls a Galaxy display, and its pod has a visible tank so you can see the liquid level. The RX lists a 3D HD screen. Neither page lists screen size. The RX page lists adjustable airflow; the Mate pages don’t mention airflow. For charging basics that apply to both, see how to charge a vape.

How do the flavor menus compare?

Our Mate kit page lists 8 kit flavors, and the replacement pod page lists 15, so you get more choice once you’re buying pods. Our RAZ RX page lists 10 flavors across two named editions. Flavor lists change, so check the product page on the day you order. If you want the RX against another sealed 50K device, see Geek Bar Pulse X2 vs RAZ RX or RAZ LTX vs RAZ RX.

Which should you pick?

Choose the Geek Bar Mate 60K if you want:

  • The higher rating per pod (up to 60,000 in Regular)
  • Lower repeat cost per puff with $21.99 pods
  • A device you keep, with a listed 1.1 Ω dual mesh coil and visible pod tank

Choose the RAZ RX 50K if you want:

  • One sealed unit with nothing to pair or swap
  • Bundle pricing (2 for $44.99, 3 for $59.99)
  • Three power modes and listed adjustable airflow
