These two Geek Bar devices sit at the same price but are built for different habits. One is a device you keep and refill with pods; the other is a sealed unit you replace when it’s done. Everything below comes from our own product pages, checked October 24, 2026. When a page doesn’t list a detail, we say “not listed” rather than guess. For related matchups, see Geek Bar Clio Platinum vs Mate 60K, Geek Bar Pulse X vs Pulse X2 and RAZ Vue vs Geek Bar Clio Platinum.
What’s the main difference between the Clio Platinum and Pulse X?
Format and rating. The Geek Bar Clio Platinum 50K Vape Kit pairs a device with a pod. Our page describes a two-screen system: a 360° screen on the pod plus a display on the device. When a pod is finished, you add a Clio Platinum 50K replacement pod and keep the device.
The Geek Bar Pulse X 25K is a sealed, pre-filled disposable with 18 mL of e-liquid. Our page calls it a proven favorite and notes it was the first disposable with a 3D curved screen. When it runs out, you replace the whole device.
The puff rating is the other big gap. The Clio is rated for up to 50,000 puffs in Regular mode, twice the Pulse X’s 25,000. So the Clio is the longer-rated device, while the Pulse X is the simpler grab-and-go option with no pods to track.

Puff counts are manufacturer ratings. Real-world numbers depend on how often and how hard you draw, and on which mode you use.
Which one gives more for the money?
For a single unit, they’re tied at $24.99. But the Clio is rated for twice the puffs, which works out to about $0.50 per 1,000 rated puffs versus about $1.00 for the Pulse X.
Bundles narrow that gap. The Pulse X page lists 2 for $44.99 (about $22.50 each) and 3 for $59.99 (about $20.00 each). Three Pulse X units cost $59.99 for 75,000 rated puffs, or roughly $0.80 per 1,000. A Clio kit plus two pods costs $74.97 for 150,000 rated puffs, or roughly $0.50 per 1,000. You pay $14.98 more up front with the Clio, but on paper you get twice the rated puffs. The Clio kit and pod pages don’t list bundle tiers. Prices can change, so check the product pages on the day you order.
How do the power modes differ?
The Clio Platinum has three modes: Regular (up to 50,000 puffs), Pulse (25,000) and Super Pulse (20,000). Our page explains that Pulse and Super Pulse run harder, so their ratings are lower. The Pulse X has two: Regular (up to 25,000) and Pulse (15,000), with Pulse described as a stronger hit.
One useful comparison: the Clio’s Pulse mode is rated for the same 25,000 puffs as the Pulse X in its gentlest setting. Even its strongest Super Pulse mode, at 20,000, is rated higher than the Pulse X’s Pulse mode at 15,000. If you like to move between settings, the Clio gives you one more step.
What about screens, airflow and build?
Both have displays, but they do different jobs. The Clio uses two: a 360° screen on the pod and a separate display on the device. The Pulse X has a single 3D curved screen, which our page notes was a first for disposables.
The Clio lists adjustable airflow and a dual mesh coil. The Pulse X lists dual mesh coils with a dual-core chip but doesn’t mention airflow control. Neither page lists a battery size. Both charge with USB-C; on the Clio, charging is on the device, so the device stays with you between pods. See how to charge a vape for general tips, and our Geek Bar Pulse X troubleshooting guide if your Pulse X acts up.
How many flavors does each offer?
The Pulse X has the bigger menu. Our Pulse X page lists 21 flavors. The Clio Platinum kit page lists 10, and the replacement pod page lists 4. Both share a few favorites, such as Cool Mint, Blue Razz Ice and White Peach Raspberry.
If you go with the Clio, it’s worth checking that the pod flavors you want are on the pod page, since that list is shorter than the kit list. Flavor lists change, so pick your flavor on the product page to see what’s currently available. For ideas, see our best Geek Bar Pulse X flavors guide.
Which should you buy: Clio Platinum or Pulse X?
Choose the Geek Bar Clio Platinum 50K if you want the higher puff rating, a device you keep between pods, two screens, three modes and adjustable airflow.
Choose the Geek Bar Pulse X 25K if you want a sealed device with nothing to swap, bundle pricing as low as about $20.00 each, a listed 18 mL of e-liquid and the deeper flavor list.
