Quick answer: On the pre-filled devices we sell, you never change the coil by itself. The coil is sealed inside the disposable or inside each replacement pod, so it lasts as long as that device or pod does. When the flavor turns flat or burnt and a full charge doesn’t fix it, or the screen shows the e-liquid is empty, replace the pod (on a pod kit) or the whole device (on a disposable). Puff ratings on our pages run from 15,000 to 60,000, and those are manufacturer ratings, not guarantees.

“How long does a vape coil last?” usually comes from people who are used to refillable tank kits, where the coil is a separate part you buy and swap. The devices we stock work differently. Everything below about specific products comes from our own product pages, checked October 25, 2026. When a page doesn’t list a detail, we say “not listed” instead of guessing.
Do disposables and pod kits have a coil you can change?
They have a coil, but it isn’t a part you replace. Every device and pod we sell comes pre-filled and sealed. The coil, the e-liquid and (on most of them) a small battery are built into one unit.
- Disposables such as the Geek Bar Pulse X2 50K or the RAZ RX 50K: when the coil or e-liquid is done, you replace the whole device.
- Pod kits such as the Geek Bar Mate 60K or the RAZ Vue 50K: the coil lives in the pod. You keep the battery and swap in a new pre-filled pod.
So for these devices, “changing the coil” means changing the pod or the device. Don’t try to open a sealed pod or disposable to reach the coil. They aren’t built to be taken apart or refilled.
How long does the coil last on the devices we sell?
As long as the pod or device it’s sealed into. The best guide is the puff rating on each product page, which is the manufacturer’s rating for that unit:

Real totals depend on how long and how often you draw and which mode you use. Higher-power modes cut the rating: the Mate pod drops to 30,000 in Pulse mode, the Vue pod to 25,000 in Boost, and the Clio Platinum pod to 25,000 in Pulse and 20,000 in Super Pulse.
How many puffs does a coil last?
There isn’t one number for every vape. On a refillable tank, coil life depends on the coil, the e-liquid and how hard it’s run, which is why you’ll see very different answers online. On a sealed pod or disposable, the maker sizes the coil, battery and e-liquid together and publishes one puff rating for the whole unit. That rating, listed on each of our product pages, is the most useful number you’ll get.

How do you know when it’s time to replace the pod or device?
Look for these signs, in roughly this order:
- The screen shows the e-liquid is empty. If your device has a display with an e-liquid gauge and it reads empty, the pod or device is done.
- A dry or burnt taste that doesn’t go away. Charge fully, wait a minute and take a slow puff. If it still tastes burnt, the wick is usually out of liquid. Our burnt taste guide covers the checks.
- Flavor fades even with a full battery. Weak flavor on a charged device often means the e-liquid is nearly gone.

Can you make a coil last longer?
You can help it reach its rating. These habits work on any of the devices above:
- Use the lower-power mode (Regular or Normal) for most puffs. That’s the mode the highest puff rating is based on.
- Keep the battery charged. Running the battery very low can make draws weaker.
- Take normal-length puffs and give the device a few seconds between them so the wick can soak back up.
- Store it upright at room temperature, out of direct sun and hot cars.

How much does a replacement pod cost?
On our pages today, the Mate 60K pod is $21.99, the Foger Switch Pro 30K pod is $14.99, and the RAZ Vue 50K and Clio Platinum 50K pods are $24.99 each. Does vape juice last as long as the coil?
In a sealed pod or disposable, the e-liquid is usually what runs out first, and the coil goes with it.
